about Jeremy dawes, web site optimizer

Something scenic

I love getting a website into top spot in Google for a business owner and hearing how much new business it is bringing them.

Search engine optimisation is a difficult thing to promise finite results in. What I do know is that if we pick reasonably competitive key phrases and follow the fundamentals of detailed, unique content, a mixture of content types, intra-site linking, external inbound links, appropriate use of headings, meta data, text and keywords as well as a few off-site tools like social media, directory listings, article publication, blog commenting and blog reviews then we will get a good result.

You can find more of the websites that my design team and I have created on newcastle infotech or jezweb. If you haven't got a website yet then I can help you get setup right from the beginning with logos, business cards right through to web design.

Although I'm not particularly fond of the hype that sometimes surrounds these technologies they are often very useful, a convenient way of connecting with others and handy marketing tools.

I'm currently studying a Bachelor of Information Technology at the University of Newcastle. The focus of the course relates to business, the internet and information communications technology. I'm taking my time to enjoy the course and I often find ways that I can apply what I am learning to the work I do. Some of the people that I have been fortunate to have working with me were bright young people I either met at uni or were currently studying at the Uni.

My home office is handily located 5min drive from the Uni and 15min drive from Newcastle and Lake Macquarie. Apart from figuring out how to get websites into Google and the other search engines I have a lot of time organising and building websites, repairing and building computers, setting up internet connections and managing computer networks.
